Oana began her musical journey as a vocalist.
In 2017, she enrolled in the Franco Vittadini Conservatory in Pavia to study jazz singing, but soon felt creatively constrained by the academic environment. She started experimenting with synthesizers and composing her own music, eventually releasing the EP I Fiori del Male in 2021, followed by several singles. Although the Covid pandemic slowed down her promotional efforts, she still managed to perform at small festivals across Italy.

Her DJ path began almost playfully in 2021, during her studies at the Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale in Saluzzo. What started as a social experiment quickly revealed itself as a powerful expressive tool: not only did it allow her to explore new music, but she discovered how DJing could “play” with people’s emotions in real time.

In 2023, she joined Costa Cruises as a resident DJ. The Infinity format offered her full artistic freedom, allowing her to explore everything from house to deep and hypnotic techno.
On land, she balanced gigs between main rooms and side rooms, from commercial to underground techno. Rather than seeing this versatility as a limitation, she embraced it as an opportunity: emotions follow similar patterns across genres— only the language changes. For her, it’s a challenge and a way to prove she can master multiple forms of expression.
In 2024, she was selected as one of the 10 finalists at Jäger Music Lab. That experience gave her the final push toward a clear direction. Thus, PXLIE was born: a project that merges her teenage punk roots, the
academic sensibility of jazz, the melodic depth of her songwriting years, and the technical skills of her production background.
